Heat shrink tubing for industrial environments
- EIE Process has long experience with heat shrink tubing as the coating of choice in industrial applications.
- Heat shrink tubing in a variety of dimensions and designs
- Heat shrink tubes are available in diameters from 22 mm up to 550 mm.
Areas of use for heat shrink tubing:
Heat shrink tubing is a type of protective tube used to insulate cables, corrosion protection, protection of electrical connections and joints against short circuit and mechanical damage. When heat is applied to the shrink tube, it shrinks and forms tightly around the encased objects, providing a protective envelope against wear, mechanical damage, moisture and other external influences. Heat shrink tubing is generally made of polymer olefin, PVC, PTFE, or viton. Polyolefin is the most common material due to its balance of flexibility, shrinkability and durability.
Heat shrink tubes are specially designed to withstand different temperatures, between -55°C and +125°C, depending on the choice of material. Some heat shrink tubes are flame retardant to reduce the risk of fire.
